Potential “Momentous” HIV Cure gets Green Light for Human Trials

A potential cure for HIV from American Gene Technologies has been given the go-ahead from the Food and Drug Administration for the first phase of human trials. 

“This is momentous news that we have FDA approval to launch phase I and conduct our first human trials,” said David Pauza, AGT’s Chief Science Officer.

“We are beyond excited to reach this milestone. This brings us closer to our goal of transforming lives with genetic medicine”.

Pauza went on to say that based on “successful commercial-scale runs” of the gene therapy, it has “high potential to be effective”.

Exciting!

And we should have some news of how effective by the end of the year, with the trials beginning in September (2020) in Universities of Maryland, Washington and Georgetown.

The drug, called AGT103-T, is a single-dose lentiviral vector-based gene therapy developed to eliminate HIV. It does this by repairing immune system damage and assisting the body’s natural responses to control the virus.

This is done through an 11-day process of increasing HIV-fighting T cells and boosting their rate of survival within an HIV-infected body.

According to UNAIDS, over 38 million people are currently living with HIV.

Trans Influencer and Friends Attacked, Robbed in Hollywood While Filmed & Mocked

Three trans women survived an attack on them this weekend in Hollywood, where they were hit, had a scooter hurled at them, and their belongings stolen. 

Eden the Doll and her friends Jaslene White Rose and Joslyn Flawless were embroiled in a confrontation while they waited for an Uber and a man robbed Eden’s phone.

The attackers quickly outnumbered the three women after hurling rocks at them.

Meanwhile, there’s video footage of the entire incident because the transphobes recorded it and posted it to their own Instagram pages.

Steve – the name of the handyman recording his friend’s vile abuse – continued to laugh as the confrontation got progressively heated.

The attacker then hits Joslyn and steals her bag, knocking Joslyn – who recently had hip surgery – to the floor. While another throws a scooter at Jaslene.

He mocked the girls shouting, “You remember that movie White Chicks?”

They then bribe Eden to buy her own phone back, to which she obliged – both out of fear, and wanting her photos and videos back – giving him all she had.

The primary attacker then knocks Jaslene unconscious, lying in the gutter while people walk past… but don’t help. One black woman even asks “Where’s the blood?” when Joslyn confronts her about not stopping for another black woman.

In the meantime, Joslyn has her shoes stolen while being threatened with a crowbar.

Eventually the ambulance arrives and while Eden escaped without any physical harm, both Joslyn and Jaslene were hurt, but are recovering.

Somebody compiled all of Eden’s stories into a YouTube. *Trigger warning*

StevoFilmz – the one recording – has a 20k followers on Instagram, and a YouTube channel, both of which have been taken down at the moment. The bio in his account states “Paramount/Compton” so we can assume that’s where he lives.

Well… yeah.

It’s her job to be nice, she doesn’t have be off-screen. There’s a ton of celebrities that are mean. She’s done so much for queer rights.

The difference between her and other celebs is that she’s a fucking hypocrite. Don’t make millions off the public telling them to be nice, when you’re not yourself. It’s the same reason we cancel gay republicans.

So yes, when she’s treating people badly – the same type of people who she makes her millions off before joking about being imprisoned while in her mansion – we can choose to no longer support her without feeling any guilt.

As for queer rights? Hmm. She pushed some boundaries for the 90s, definitely. She provided lesbian representation on a mainstream level, completely. But – in the words of Janet Jackson – what has she done for us lately?

She’s defended being friends with George Bush who voted against our rights, and Kevin Hart who joked about beating us with dollhouses, and she was close enough with Trump to send his newborn a rather expensive gift. Now producers of the show are taking the hit because of an environment she created?

We – as “the people” – have to realize that community, kindness, and honesty mean nothing when you’re making… wait for it… $87.5 million a YEAR.

That’s enough money to last anybody an entire lifetime, so we think it’s time Ellen took a bow – and her purse full of cash and egotism – and let somebody who is all the things she preaches to be, take the reins of gay daytime TV.

Father Jailed for Repeatedly Whipping Son with TV Cable for Having Grindr

A homophobic father has been sentenced to just 18 months for a hate crime against his own son. 

In Plymouth, England, it’s reported that the father had asked to borrow his son’s phone, before noticing the app and subsequent photos the son had sent of himself.

The following morning, he unleashed a homophobic wrath on his son, exclaiming “You are gay! You are a woman!”

Wonder what religion prompted those remarks.

He then forced his son to strip down to his socks and underwear and savagely beat him with a TV cable, whipping him at least 20 times.

According to the prosecutor, Francesca Whebell, “He hit him multiple times across his body, particularly his arm, breaking the skin there” while continuing to question the boy.

The son managed to escape after asking for some water, grabbing his school uniform and running out of the house. When he arrived at school though, teachers noticed something was wrong and notified the police after he began crying.

Infuriatingly, the defence argued that he is a “loving father” who lost his temper at the nature of the photos – and not his son’s sexuality. Adding that he had “genuine” remorse and not seeing his son has “broken his heart”.

Perhaps his homophobia vs his love for his son is something he can mull over while in prison.

Thankfully, the judge saw through the feeble argument, stating: “On the basis of the photographs, [the teen] is likely to be left with some scarring on his arm and he will inevitably suffer some psychological consequences.”

“You hit him again and again, some 20 times, with the television cable. You caused him ‘loads of pain,’ to use his words.”

We hope the boy gets adequate support while going through all of this.

Old Homophobic Bitch Leaves White House

Kellyanne Conway – or ‘that old homophobic bitch’, as you or I know her – has left her position as Donald Trump’s White House advisor. 

Conway is notorious for her anti-LGBT+ stance, having perpetuated a number of hateful views over the years, but is leaving behind her role to focus on her family. (Unless they’re gay, then she’ll ignore their human rights).

Last night (Sunday 23rd) Conway released a statement saying – in the most FOX-style – that she was resigning, to give her family: “less drama, and more mama”.

If you want to give them more of a mother, try having a heart.

A sentiment that’s shared by her (iconic) daughter Claudia, who at just 15, has been so outspoken about her mother’s skewered political views that she regularly makes headlines. Most recently, for voicing that she wanted to be emancipated from her parents.

Although, Claudia’s father George is on her side; also unleashing a tirade on the president just days ago on Twitter.

Could it be that KellyAnne’s hateful agenda and relentless support of president Trump were tearing her family apart? It seems so.

And we can really only offer our respect to Claudia… for standing strong in her stance on what’s right.
